How to Display your Jewelry at a Show or Venue

Ideas for Imaginative Jewlery Display Items

There are many creative and inexpensive ways to successfully display your jewelry. Especially for those first beginning to sell their own jewelry, keeping costs down is important.

With a bit of creativity, you can show your jewelry to prospective buyers and still look fairly professional on a budget.

Displaying Earrings

Because earrings can be poked through tiny holes, get creative with window screen material. Take a picture frame (just the frame without the backing) and staple window screen to the back side. A paper stapler won’t likely be strong enough to punch into wood, but a stapler meant for building with, available at most hardware stores, will work well.

Earrings can then be poked through the screen holes to put on display. Dozens of earrings can be displayed in a frame that is a few feet square.

Displaying Necklaces

Commercially made jewelry trees are often available at the low end for very affordable prices. Jewelry trees allow you to drape many necklaces for display. The disadvantage if there are many branches on the tree is the pieces will be randomly scattered, perhaps a bit too much so. It may be distracting and hard to see all the pieces.

Alternatively, you can look for a kitchen counter towel rack or a rack meant for holding coffee mugs. Because these devices have fewer and longer ‘arms’, necklaces and bracelets can be hung in rows which makes it easier to view them.

TIP- Always keep the clasps of necklaces in an easy to access spot so you can remove them when a customer wants to try one on.

Read about how to create easy jewelry tags as another way to show and hang earrings and necklaces which takes a bit more time and planning, but can be an effective way for display.

Create an Attractive Display Area

Putting a bit of work into making your display area attractive and appealing will go a long way to make your jewelry more enticing. Cover the table surfaces with a table cloth or material to create a nice-looking base. Add some varying heights to the display. For example have some very low lying jewelry on display, such as in a bowl or shallow tray, and also have some medium and high displays. The longer you can keep people’s interest, the more of your jewelry they will view.

If you have the budget, a mannequin neck can be a great way to highlight one of your favorite necklaces.
